Reading Group
6 and 7 March 2026. Loraine Furter presented a selection of CRIP zines in the ENCORE bar, as part of Speaking Volumes, a research project on subversive publishing.
The selection brought together publications by and for disabled artists, activists and people concerned by different kinds of disabilities. Several zines were available in multiple formats, paper thicknesses, font sizes, audio and digital versions. Access·ories, a series of objects by Loraine Furter, offered many ways to pick up and hold the publications.
Two collective reading moments took place during the festival, open to any body, prioritising disabled people. Reading aloud, descriptions, peer support. The setup was adapted to the needs of those present.
